£695.00
A Tam o Shanter Bonnet and other effects that are attributed to 266906 Private Ernest F White who served with 6th 10th and 22nd Northumberland Fusiliers (3rd Tyneside Scots). The Tam was officially approved in May 1915 but did not see widespread use until mid 1916. White's Tam is not named but has its Tyneside Scottish badge originally affixed. There has been no other badge on this Tam. The Tam is of officially approved construction with double stitched lining, double eyelets to the rear band and number over letter WD Stamp indicating inspection at the Pimlico Clothing Depot. Also with the Tam came the cover only of his paybook, his shooting scoring book, his photo, wound stripe (authorised on WO Daily list 5419 for his wounding on 17th Nov 1917). His testament that is personally inscribed to him and another also named to him. All items came together. The Tam is in excellent moth free condition. Genuine WW1 ToS are becoming scarce and examples with attribution extremely so.
