A M95 'kit helmet all metal Prussian pickelhaube. The kit helmets were assembled at Army Corps Depots by crimping most parts the Wappen being fixed by a tube fixing rather than loops. The Wappen securing pin has at some point been replaced. The Wappen is missing the staff. The spike has a bit of damage to the point. The helmet retains its original cockades often lost and chinstrap that is now sitting reversed over the comb. The leather has shaped around the comb indicative that it has been in place for many years. The liner is fragile and detached in places but present. In my view this is a souvenir piece I bought it directly from the family of a RFA officer. Regardless of the story these ersatz helmets are considerably more scarce than the leather or felt models.
